Our Easter

Spring is here and we are enjoying the most beautiful weather lately and we have been taking full advantage. Our Easter weekend was so nice and we had so much fun.  Here are some pics of our fun times.  (Just to let you know there are alot of pictures - our families live way too far away from us so I feel like I need to post lots and lots of pictures!)

Friday's event:
Our ward has a playgroup every Friday morning so instead of the normal playgroup they arranged to have an egg hunt for the kiddos.
This is Mya's 1st egg hunt and she had so much fun!  After showing her what to do she just took off and loaded her basket with lots of eggs.  She had a ball!

Saturday's event:
We had a picnic at the park with the other Bartlett's.  Mya thinks these guys are the greatest - she gets so giggly and excited everytime she sees them.

Sunday's events:
Easter Sunday morning.
Mya came downstairs to find what the Easter bunny (& Grandma Bartlett) left her.  It was so cute to see her reaction to the baskets filled with goodies.

This is Mya's Eater outfit.  I tried to get a cute picture of her in it but she didn't want to cooperate so this is the best I could get.  She is such a silly girl!

And to cap it all off we did another egg hunt in our backyard.  Mya is now a star egg hunter or at least she is to us!

I think this is such a sweet picture.  Mya really is her daddy's girl!

We hope you all had a wonderful Easter!  We love you!

Her nose stuck in a book!

The other day I caught Mya sitting on the floor "reading" this paper. I thought it was really cute how her nose was pushed up against it and her eyes were peaking over the top. She is such a funny girl!

Just a cute picture of Mya and Daddy!

I've heard it is really good and it is the first book in a series.  So I thought I would stick my nose in this book to see what all the hype is about.  Happy reading to me!

A Tennis and NASCAR weekend!

Last weekend Grandma Bartlett came down to visit. We spent an afternoon at the tennis courts playing tennis and having fun! Mya loved running around and chasing balls.

Brandon playing a little tennis.

Mya and Amber watching from the sidelines. (I love this picture!)

Mya ready to serve. (Doesn't she have great form!!)

Brandon scored tickets to the NASCAR race from a friend so we moseyed on down to the race track and left Mya at home with Grandma. Thanks Grandma for watching Mya for us - we always appreciate it!! We had a great time!

Me at the race.

Jimmie Johnson before the race. (Jimmie is our favorite driver.)

More Jimmie Johnson (Don't know why this picture is so much smaller than the others.)

Boogity boogity boogity - let's go racing boys!

Issues!

So, I've been working on a post for a few days now and blogger is having issues uploading pictures - and a post just isn't as good without pictures. Hopefully it will be working soon so I can finish my post and actually post it! Check back soon. :)

Beautiful day!

We've been enjoying some really nice weather here (sorry Kirsten!!) this whole week so Mya and I have been taking advantage by going to the park and taking walks! It truly feels like Spring has arrived! So we will soak it up while we can before it gets too darn hot!
Here are a few pics of a recent trip to the park...

Mya is really growing up so fast! She is getting so big and doing lots of fun things. At her 15 month check up she weighed in at 24 pounds (50th percentile) and was 31 1/2 inches (75th percentile) tall. She still speaks her very own language and she even uses her hands when she "talks." It's pretty cute to watch. But we are looking forward to real words - I'm guessing that she is just storing up all of these words and she will just start spitting them out one day when she is good and ready! For now we will just be happy with mom, daddy, bath, ball, bye bye and hi/hello. :)

Hat's off!

Mya absolutely loves this hat and she always acts so cute when she puts it on. She also loves to put things around her neck including this cell phone car charger - and pretty much anything else she thinks will fit around her neck. I guess this is the beginning of her dress up stage. I think this calls for a pretty pink boa!! Target here we come! :)

I love this last picture! Such a silly girl! :)

Bonny Crocker

When I was a teenager growing up in Missouri I really loved to bake. I used to make cookies and cakes all the time. My brother George even gave me the nickname Bonny Crocker! Once I moved to Utah and tried to bake nothing ever turned out. The altitude change was messing up everything so I just stopped baking. I had forgotten how relaxing and fun it was until I made Mya's birthday cakes. Since then I've been hooked. Brandon got me a pretty red Kitchenaid mixer for Christmas and I've started baking again. It really makes me happy and it has been so much fun! I've already made several batches of cookies and a cake and I'm looking forward to finding new recipes to try. And pretty soon Mya can help me too! I'm so excited - I've got my baking mojo back! :)

Here she is - my beautiful Kitchenaid Mixer. I just love her! (I've named her Betty - an ode to the real Miss Crocker herself!)

I decided to make a batch of traditional chocolate chip cookies today - so YUMMY!

Mya enjoying the ooey gooey goodness! Such a cute messy face!

Mya loved the cookies so much she kept coming back to the kitchen signing "more". It was so cute! :)
