A Bartlett Christmas 2008!

We had a really wonderful Christmas Eve and Christmas Day this year.  It was so nice to be together as a family and watch Mya enjoy all that Christmas had to offer for a 2 year old.  She was really into it this year and had lots of fun opening presents.  And I think she understands the whole Santa part too!  We heard lots of excited "OH's!" and"WOW's!" and "TOY's".  It was all very exciting and fun!

Christmas Eve
We spent the day just being together.  We went to the mall for some last minute shopping and out to dinner at Cheesecake Factory then headed back home for Christmas movies and fun!

Mya showing off her Christmas outfit!

Getting ready to open her Christmas Eve present.

I wonder what it is?

Christmas jammies!

Such a CUTE model!!

Christmas Morning
Daddy went downstairs first to see if Santa had come to our house.  Then it was time for Mommy and Mya to go downstairs to find what Santa had left us.  Mya was so excited and ran straight to her kitchen that Santa brought.  She loves it so much!  She has been making us yummy food ever since!

Play food to go with the kitchen!

And a shopping cart for all that grocery shopping she will be doing!

A keyboard for our musician!

And this SWEET guitar!  Mya loves to rock out on this.  The guitar is really cool and plays great songs - songs that I LOVE not silly kiddie songs so its really fun to JAM on!

And I just LOVE this picture.  I think it really captures Mya's sweetness!

Time to see what Santa left in our stockings!

Oh, a flute!  (My mom and dad had an old recorder "flute" at their house when we were there (it was the one I used to play when I was little.)  And Mya just loved it so we thought she would like one of her very own!

And you can never go wrong with a toy microphone - always fun!

Mya got a few more things but I want to get this post DONE before its 2009 already!!

All in all it was a joyous holiday at the Bartlett household.  Mya and Bonny were spoiled greatly by Brandon!  Thanks Babe - we LOVE you!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and we wish you a very HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Merry Christmas

I'm hoping this year turns out better than last!  If you don't know what I'm talking about just click here to refresh your memory.  I don't need any refreshment - my memory of Christmas morning 2007  is still extremely VIVID!

May this year be merry and bright!

More family picture out-takes and Mya-isms!

I like to call this picture "Where's Mya?"  We would get her in position and then I would get up to turn on the camera's timer and sit back down and before the camera took the pictures Mya was already gone!  Look at her peeking at us in the background. Silly girl! :)

Mya taking off again just in time for the camera to take this gem of a picture!

And here she wants down!

I actually really like this picture.  Even though Mya was kicking me at this point!

An this is one of my favorites!  Tickling Mya. :)  Such a little stinker!

Ok, now for some Mya-isms!

She is very polite and always says peas, gank you, you're welk and sorry!

She got the cutest little purse from her Aunt Aimee, Uncle Daniel and cousins Britnee, Amber and Nate for her birthday and she has to take it EVERYWHERE.  We can NOT leave the house without it!  I always hear people commenting on how cute it is that she is carrying a tiny purse.  And they are right - it is pretty darn cute!

She has a Little Mermaid toy cell phone (that she carries in her purse) which she loves.  Ariel talks on it and says "Hi, it's me Ariel."  I heard Mya playing with it one day and Mya responded to Ariel and said "Hi Ariel, its Baby." (She still calls herself Baby!)

She loves her sunglasses (yip, she carries them in her purse too!) and she wears them pretty much all of the time in the car.  If she doesn't have them on and the sun gets in her eyes she says "Oh its too bight."  And lately she has been adding an OK to the end of that sentence!  "Oh, its too bight OK!!"  So funny!!

She found a wallet sized picture of me when I was a little girl that she also carries around in her purse.  She loves to look at it and say "Oh, cute mom!"

She can be such a stinker sometimes but we love her anyway!

The Bartlett Family wishes you a Merry Christmas!

I had high hopes for getting out Christmas cards this year.  I even designed one myself.  But unfortunately I had other things to get done and the cards took the back burner.  Or maybe I can use the excuse that I'm going "GREEN" this year!  Hahaaa!!
Hopefully this post will be just as good as getting a card in the mail!

We hope you have a wonderful holiday season.

Love,
The Bartletts

Here are a few "out-takes" from our family picture photo shoot.  Mya wasn't very cooperative (the joys of having a 2 year old!)  Even a dumdum sucker bribe didn't help.  They turned out pretty cute anyway!

My little Bro got married!

Last week we went to Texas (El Paso) for my little brother Garry's wedding.  We had so much fun hanging out with family.  I finally got to meet my new Aunt Antoinette, my new brother-in-law Aaron, my new sister-in-law Irma, my brother George's girlfriend Gretchen and my niece Cordelia (who is 3) and nephew Lochlan (who is 1.)  It was a wonderful weekend and it went by way too fast.  Hopefully we can all get together again really soon!

Since Garry and Irma were getting sealed in the Mexico, Juarez Temple they had to have a ceremony performed in El Paso first.  We all met at the singles ward (at the institute building by the UTEP campus) to witness the union.

Garry and Irma getting married.  Garry is so cute - he had tears in his eyes the whole time.

Here is Mya with a few of her cousins.  (Kinneret - she wouldn't look at the camera, Mya, Kyle & Cordelia)  Mya found some candy canes out in the foyer (she is eating one in the photo) and let her cousins in on her find.  Kinneret and Cordelia came running into the room with their newly found treats and exclaimed "Look what Cousin Mya found!"  It was really cute.  I was glad that Mya got to meet some of her "Fox" cousins!

After that we headed over to the LDS Temple in Juarez to witness Garry & Irma's sealing for time and all eternity.  It was such a beautiful sealing and I am so grateful that I got to be there.  I LOVE going to the Temple!

The bride and groom!

Saturday was the reception.  It was so much fun!  They had dancing, a Mariachi band (who was fantastic!) and a DJ.  Mya LOVES to dance and had a ball shaking her 'groove thang' all night!

The grand entrance of the bride and groom.

Their first dance.

After the first dance both sides of the family had a couples dance.  Then my brother sang "How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You" to his beautiful new bride.  It was really cute.  My brother is a great singer and a BIG HAM so it was very entertaining!  When Garry took off Irma's garter he went under her dress and came out with it in his mouth - such a funny guy!  Way to go Garry!!  I wish I would have gotten a picture but no such luck. :)

Here is Garry being a goofball!!

All the Fox kids together again!
(Nancy, Wendy, me, Janey, Garry & Irma, George and Jay)  What's up with the girls arms?  Hmmm, not sure why we were doing that. :)

Sisters

Brothers (doing their best GQ poses!  Silly boys!)

My Dad and Granny (Aren't they cute!!)  My Granny will be 89 next month.  I love her so much!  I was glad to see her again and have her meet Mya.

Dad, Mom, Granny Fox, Aunt Antoinette & Uncle Bob (my Dad's only sibling)

Nana & Papa Fox with some of their grandkids.  We are missing 10 grandkids in this picture.
Kinneret (Jay's), Lochlan (Wendy's), Mya, Kit (he's missing a head - haha - he was too tall - he belongs to Jay), Kyle (also Jay's) and Cordelia (again, one of Jay's)
On this trip we also found out that my little sis Janey is expecting!  Yay!  Congrats Janey and Aaron!

Mya and Irma
Irma was so sweet to let all the little girls hold her beautiful bouquet.  Mya kept saying "Oh, pretty."  everytime she would see Irma.  So cute!

Mya and Uncle George

Me & Mya (I love this picture!)

And I can't forget about my little sister Janey.  She got married back on October 18th.  I wasn't able to attend and I was pretty sad about it.  At least I got to see pictures!  I love you Janey!

Janey and her new husband Aaron!

Winter Wonderland

Today we woke up to SNOW!  Mya looked out the window and said "SNOW!  Outside mom, peas(please.)"  I hurried and got Mya and I dressed in our snow gear(haha - we don't have snow gear - we live in Las Vegas!) and headed outside.  Mya really didn't know what to think of it but she ventured out in the yard anyway and then realized that snow was not for her so she went back to the porch and sat down and kept saying "Its cold outside.  Brrrrr!"  So cute!!
It is still snowing right now and it its so beautiful!  I LOVE IT!  I hope it sticks around. :)

Isn't this picture cool!  There is just something about snow in a palm tree that is so wrong but really pretty.

This is Mya saying "snow."  Don't you love her snow gear?  A hooded jacket with last years winter coat no gloves or boots(just tennis shoes.)  This weather just snuck up on us and we are not prepared.  I guess we need to get to that! :)

P.S.  We just got back from a trip to Texas for my little brothers wedding.  More on that later!
