Remote queen on her throne!

The other day I was cleaning up around the house and I realized I hadn't heard Mya in a little bit so I went to check on her and this is how I found her...

Sitting in the recliner with the remote. I thought it was so cute! Now you know who really runs our house!! :)

Tutu cute!

I found this cute tutu in the $1 section at Target and I couldn't pass it up! Seriously it was only $1! And a really sweet find. Mya loved it right away and the moment I put it on her she started twirling around and around! So girlie and oh so cute!! :)

Dancing with Daddy! She is definitely Daddy's girl.

Friends

My good friend Kirsten and her little family came to Las Vegas to visit last week. We had such a fun time with them and we were really sad to have them go back to Idaho. Mya had so much fun with their little boy, Eli. And I had so much fun with my friend Kirsten! And I guess I should include our husbands who both are named Brandon. We had fun with you guys too!!

We took a couple of trips to the park. Mya and Eli loved riding in the wagon!

My little eskimo!

The kiddos in the wagon - ready to ride! Not only did they love to ride in it they loved to play in it!

On our way to the park.

Eli loved pulling the wagon and Mya loved to help.

Catch me if you can! Mya is such a little wild woman - she loves to run!

Two cute little bums!

Kirsten and Eli, Bonny and Mya - aren't we cute!

See, I told you Mya loves Eli!!

We also went down to the Mandalay Bay to the Shark Reef exhibit. It was really fun and so cool to see all the interesting fish and sharks.

Mya and mommy!

Mya and Eli checking out the cool fish.

Running around! They had this really cool part that looked like a sunken ship. You could see the fish all around you - even below! It was so funny - Mya wouldn't step on the glass - she would always walk around it. I have to admit it was a little freaky walking on a glass window over water!

We had so much fun with the Nelson family and we hope that they get to visit us again really soon! We love you guys!

Another friend of mine was in town last week too! Danalin is due with her second baby in a few short weeks. Dana lives in Washington but she is from Las Vegas so I get to see her from time to time! Luckily her sisters threw her a baby shower so I got to see her while she was here!

This is the card I made for Danalin. I really love to make cards - it's a nice creative outlet for me!

GOOOOOO PACKERS!

For those of you that don't know I am a big sports fan and football and the Green Bay Packers hold the keys to my heart. The Packers have had an unbelievable season and just made it to the NFC Championship game. Way to go Green Bay!!

(Mya's a Packer fan too!!)

A December to remember...

So, it's been a while since I've added a new post so I thought I would post an update of what has been going on lately. Just to let you know this is a lengthy post with lots of pictures!! :)

Christmas Eve:

We spent Christmas Eve with one of our favorite families - the other Bartlett's! Brandon's brother, Daniel, his wife Aimee, and their kids Britnee, Amber and Nathan. We all went to dinner at BJ's and then went back to their house for the annual (I believe this was the 5th annual) Bartlett Family Talent Show. We had a very nice time. Mya loves her Uncle, Aunt and cousins very much and we are very lucky to live so close to them. Thanks guys for always hosting us - we love you!!

Mya helping Amber play the piano. I think she's a natural!!

Daniel read the Christmas story that included several Christmas songs to go along. Here we are singing with Aimee accompanying on the piano.

Christmas morning:

On Christmas morning I awoke at 5:00AM when I felt my lip split (like when you've slept all night with your mouth open and your mouth and lips are so dry that you get a small crack in your lip.) Then the pain set in like my lips were on fire. I ran to the bathroom and then down stairs. By now Brandon was awake and wondering what was going on. My lips were swelling at a very fast pace. But this was no ordinary swelling - my lips were moving like there was a creature inside them that wanted to get out. I am totally serious - my lips were actually moving and growing with every second. I had no idea what was going on or why this was happening. By now I am totally freaking out and crying! Luckily my sweet husband and priesthood holder of our home was calm enough to give me a blessing and help calm me down. After that I said we better get to the ER FAST!! We got Mya up, threw on some clothes and took off to the hospital. By the time we made it to the ER my lips were very swollen and numb as were my right chin, cheek and ear. In the ER we finally came to the conclusion that I was having an allergic reaction to something, but what? The night before I ate some yummy shrimp in my pasta at BJ's. Was that it? But I've been eating shrimp for like 15 years. Why would I all of a sudden become allergic to it? It just didn't make sense. But that was all we could think of so the doctor treated me for a food allergy and gave me some kind of steroid and a dose of benedryl. It took the swelling and numbness away in my chin, cheek and ear but my lips were still quite swollen and very numb. After 5 hours in the ER they released me to go home (still feeling swollen and numb.) The doctor had mentioned that dust mites can also cause an allergic reaction and that freaked me out so the first thing I did when I got home was strip the sheets off my bed and washed them right away. While at home I didn't improve much and started feeling tingling in my arms, legs and feet but that soon subsided so I took a shower and a nap because I was totally exhausted. When I woke up from my nap my lips were still swollen and numb so I new that it couldn't be a food allergy because I should be better by now. Later that night when Brandon was getting the sheets out of the dryer so we could go to bed this is what we found...

A scorpion!! I was stung by a scorpion on the underside of my lip. Yes, this scorpion was in my bed, on my face, and in my mouth!! EEEEEWWWWWWWWWWW!! At least we finally figured out what happened to me. No wonder my lips were moving!! The venom was causing the nerves in my mouth to move. So crazy!! If you were wondering I am doing great now. My lip is almost normal. I still have a little tightness on my upper lip in the area where I was stung but I'm sure it will be back to normal in a couple more days.

Now on to nicer things!

Christmas Night..

After all the craziness finally settled down we gathered round our Christmas tree and let Mya open her presents because after all it was still Christmas! She had so much fun tearing all the paper off. She was sure to get every single piece off too! It was so cute and fun to see her. She knew exactly what to do. We took our time and let her play a little with each toy for a little bit before moving on to another gift. It was really fun! Christmas is really so wonderful with a little person around!! Here are some fun pics of Mya's Christmas.

No more splint...

We finally got to take Mya's splint off! Wahoooooo!! It took her a little bit to get used to using her foot and leg again but before too long she was running and jumping like her usual happy self. We are so glad that her injury wasn't any worse and that she has made a full recovery. We love her so much!!
(for some reason I am having a hard time adding pictures to this post and I really want to get this up so I will post more pictures of Miss Mya running around without her splint soon so stay tuned!)

A wagon ride...

A few days ago we took Mya for a ride in her new wagon she got from Santa. She absolutely loved it! She loves to sit and hold on to the sides and go for rides! We just took a little stroll around our neighborhood and she had the best time!

Looking oh so cute in her Green Bay Packer hat!

And last of all...

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!

The bad, the good, and the cute!

So, alot has been going on at the Bartlett house these past few weeks. Here is a sampling of the goings on.
First I will start with the bad. I will call it the bad accident. You might be wondering what that means. Well the dictionary says the word accident means "an unfortunate incident that happens unexpectedly and unintentionally, typically resulting in damage or injury." Yip! That's exactly what happend. On Tuesday morning as I was taking yet another trip down the stairs with Mya attached to my hip I slipped and fell. I landed on my tailbone and back and Mya's poor little foot was behind me so her foot was smashed. After a trip to the pediatrician and some ex-rays we were told that she had 2 small fractures in her foot. We saw the orthopedic surgeon on Thursday and he said that the fractures are minor and they will heal themselves but she needed to have a splint put on her foot and keep it on for 2 weeks to keep it stable. Mya is doing great! She doesn't have any pain and she is really good at getting around on her splint.
Her are a few pics...

Mya's x-rays. The 3rd and 4th metatarsales are broken at the very tip. They call it a buckle fracture.

Mya showing off her splint and a very big smile! What a trooper!! :)

So, now it's time for the good! We finally put up our Christmas tree! We put it off for too long and now I wish we would have put it up sooner because it looks so cute. Mya seems to like it too and she really hasn't tried to tear it down like I thought.
We hope you all are having a wonderful holiday season.
Here are a few pics of our cute tree. I decorated it in a snowman/snowflake theme. :)

And finally its time for the CUTE!! We had Mya's 1 year pictures taken and I think they turned out really good. She has alot more hair now and it is almost always out of control! She is learning so much and loves to sing, dance (she actually has some pretty good dance moves) and talk (the phone is her new favorite thing and she will pretend that almost anything is a phone - it's pretty darn cute!) She still only says mama, dada, daddy, hi and bye bye. But she can also say bath and ball but they come out more like bah.

Here is a cute video of Mya. We were looking at our friends Cathy, Mark & Taj's blog and we found this cute video of Alvin the Chipmunk singing itsy bitsy spider. Mya loved it! I captured this video of her reaction. I love how she talks to Alvin in her baby babble at the end. Enjoy! :)

(Ok, for some reason I can't get this video to post. I will try to fix it soon! It really is cute. :)
