Mya's first birthday and the happiest place on earth!

These last few weeks have been so busy but so much fun! First Mya turned the BIG 1 on November 7th! We had her birthday party on the Saturday before her actual birthday. We had a big BBQ in our backyard and had some family and friends over to celebrate. (Thanks to all who came!) Brandon made some yummy pulled pork and babyback ribs. Mmmmmmmmm! It was sooooo good! And I made my first official birthday cake. I wanted to do a daisy(my very favorite flower) themed party so the cake was a big daisy. And I think it turned out really good! Brandon even got in on the project and helped me decorate it! And I also made a 3 tiered mini cake just for Mya. In my family it was a tradition on the first birthday for the birthday baby to get their own cake to destroy. Mya seemed to really like her very own cake!! It was so much fun to watch her dive in!

Mmmmmm! Cake is yummy!! At first she didn't know what to do and only wanted to smoosh the frosting in her fingers. Then I gave her a taste and she dove right in!

Last week we went to the happiest place on earth - Disneyland!! We went with Brandon's whole family. It was so much fun and I think Mya had a really good time. She loved riding It's a Small World, Winnie the Pooh, Monster's Inc., and Pirates of the Carribean. She got to meet Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Sully from Monsters Inc.

The park, the pumpkin patch & a Halloween party!

Mya loves going to the park. We have a small community park just behind our house that has a little winding sidewalk that Mya just loves to walk around. She will do it forever if I would let her. The weather has been so nice here lately so its the perfect time to get out and go to the park! Mya also loves other kids so at the park she is more interested in them then she is in the play equipment. Its so funny to watch her around other kids she tries to hug them and talk to them - she is so friendly and cute!






So, we took a trip to the pumpkin patch. Well, it's not really a pumpkin patch when its in an empty construction lot by the side of a busy street. At least they have bales of hay set up with lots and lots of pumpkins! So even though it wasn't my ideal pumpkin patch it was still fun and Mya seemed to like it! :)







Brandon's office had their annual Halloween party last Friday. We all went as pirates! Mya looks so adorable in her little pirate princess dress and hat! Halloween has really been fun this year!

Sorry there haven't been any new posts lately! I'm in the process of writing a talk for church, planning Mya's first birthday and preparing for a trip to Disneyland.
I promise to add new posts soon. We've been doing alot of fun things lately so check back soon!

More Mya fun!

Lately Mya loves to walk around while carrying things. Some of them are even pretty heavy. I think the black changing pad kit looks like a little briefcase so I dubbed it Mya's Baby Briefcase!





Last weekend my ward's Relief Society had a women's retreat in St. George. I got to bring Brandon and Mya along too. On Saturday after my retreat classes we stopped by one of my most favorite places - the St. George Temple. I had big plans to spend some time at the temple on the lawn under the beautiful trees but once we got there it was so darn hot and all the grass had been ripped out. BUMMER!! So all I got were a few pictures. At least they turned out nice. The temple really looks beautiful with the ultra blue sky behind it. I love the St. George Temple!!!








Mya just turned 10 months old! I really can't believe it. Only 2 more months till her 1st birthday!! That is just so crazy!!
We got her some new shoes so she can start walking outside and any place besides our house. I did alot of research and found a really great baby shoe company called Pediped. The company headquarters is actually located in Henderson. Their shoes are made really well and they are just adorable!! When I saw these shoes I just had to have them!!




Two things Mya loves to do is play peek-a-boo and wave. Anytime you say "bye bye" or "hi" she will wave. And she really tries to say bye bye too. It comes out more like "bah bah" and she says it really soft but I definitely think she is really trying to say it! It is oh so cute and adorable! Oh I just love my baby girl!!!!! :)
