Life of the party!

Mya has a really fun and cute little personality and she seems to make friends easily and she likes to show her friends just how much she loves them too.  Today when we picked her up from nursery her teachers told us that she is "the life of the party" and that all the kids in her class love her and want to play with her.  Mya loves going to nursery so much that last week during Sacrament meeting she grabbed my finger and pulled me out to the foyer and proceeded to take me to her nursery class.  When I told her that it wasn't time for nursery she got pretty upset.  I can't wait to send this little girl to preschool and dance class!  I just know she is going to love it.  She's my little social butterfly! :)

You ought to be in pictures!

I don't know many moms of little girls that wouldn't get excited about this...

Mya's hair has grown so much recently in length and volume.  So much that I thought it would look so cute in pigtails!  And I think I was right!!  Check out our fun pigtail photo shoot. :)

Just adorable - don't ya think?!

And now a story just for fun!

A couple of weeks ago while shopping at Target I was approached by a man who asked me how old Mya was.  This was really weird as I don't get alot of men asking me how old my little girl is.  So I told him with hesitation.  Here is our conversation.

Man: "Hi, how old is your little girl?"
Me: "Umm, 20 months."
Man: "What is her name?"
Me: "Umm, Mya."
Man: "She is beautiful.  Have you ever thought about getting her into modeling?"
Me: "Umm, no."
Man: "She would really make a great child model.  You should consider getting her into modeling and commercials."
Me: "Ok."
Man: "I work for a modeling agency and I would love for you to bring her down for a consultation and interview."
Me: "Umm, ok.  Do you have a business card and a website so I can check it out?"
Man: "Yes.(He hands me his card) You should definitely give my assistant a call and set up an appointment."
Me: "Well, I need to talk it over with my husband.  But thank you."
Man: "Great!"
Me: "Ok, bye."

I was totally taken off guard by this and really didn't know what to think other than how strange it was.  I checked out the agency and it seems legit but I just don't think I could put my child and myself through something like that.  Although it is a little tempting!  But I do have to agree with the man that Mya is definitely beautiful and she has a cute personality to go along with it.  And just to show off my little girl here is one of my favorite pictures of Mya (even though I've posted it a few times already.)

I love this little girl!!

Another year older and wiser too!

And so it has come and gone yet again - my birthday.  I am now offically 31.  WOW - that sounds so old!  I had a wonderful day that started out with presents.  Brandon and Mya showered me with gifts early that morning before Brandon had to run off to work.  They were very generous and I loved everything!  Then Mya and I had a yummy waffle breakfast and did our usual morning routine.  After Mya's nap we went out and did some shopping and had a fun girls day.  And when Brandon got home from work we headed out for a nice dinner at the Olive Garden - yum-o!  It was really a wonderful day - thank you Brandon & Mya for making my day so special and fun.  I love you both so very much.

Here I am way back in 1977.  Ahhhhhh - so cute!!!

And here I am today with my beautiful baby girl!

Remember when...

My friend, Haley, had this on her blog and I thought it was fun and I love to play games so I'm puttin' it on mine!  Here are the rules:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!
2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Can't wait to hear what you all have to say!

Our 4th of July!

Ok, so I'm a bit behind on posting so I guess I will just jump in head first and start with our 4th of July celebrations. (Hopefully blogger will cooperate and let me load all of my pictures!) First of all I want to start by saying that I love July and I love the 4th of July - it is my #2 holiday!

We traveled to Kanab (where Brandon grew up) for all the festivities there.  Brandon's Mom and sister and her crew all live there so its alot of fun!  I have to admit that small town 4th of July festivities are so fun!  I also grew up in a small town in Missouri and I  LOVED the 4th of July actitivities.  I have lots of fun memories from those times. :)

First up on the agenda was the parade.  Mya seemed to love it but really didn't pay much attention to it because she had so many cousins and friends to play around with.

After the parade we went to the community park where they have booths set up with cute stuff and food and such.  It was pretty hot so we didn't stay long and I didn't get any pictures of this portion of our day.

Next up I wanted to take some family pictures since we all looked so cute in our red, white & blue but Mya had other plans as you can see from the pictures below.  I had it all planned out in my mind for weeks all the cute pictures we would get.  The scenery is so beautiful there so it makes for great photos.  The sun was also a factor so the pictures turned out pretty bright and we all look even more pale than we really are. :)
So, the first picture turned out ok.  Mya at least looks somewhat pleasant.  She insisted on holding her new purse with puppy inside from Aunt Tiff's gift shop and her sunglasses.  I look like a goober in this picture so I don't like it so much.

Then it just went downhill FAST!  In this one Mya looks upset.

This one is my favorite.  She is just so tired and cranky she just can't take it anymore.  There goes my great idea of getting a nice family picture.  Oh well, live and learn (note to self: never try to take nice pictures just before your childs naptime!!)

Later that night we went back to the city park for the fireworks.  They have greatly improved over the years and are really pretty good.  Mya only made it half way through until she got cranky again (oh, the joys of parenting a 1 1/2 year old!) so I took her to the car to watch a movie while everyone else watched the last part of the fireworks.

The next day we were over at Brandon's sister, Tiffany's house.  Mya loved playing on the fun slide and trampoline and with all their cute baby kittens.  We also tried to beat the heat and went for a swim in the new Kanab city pool!  Fun times!

All in all it was a great weekend filled with lots of fun times and good memories.  And I'm so thankful for our country and the freedoms that we have. :)
